Demon’s Souls Remake Runs at 50 FPS on PC Using PlayStation 5 Emulator
It looks like players may no longer need to wait for Sony to release an official PC port of Demon’s Souls.
PlayStation 5 emulators are steadily evolving, and various games from Sony’s console are being run on PC with varying degrees of success. Performance often leaves much to be desired, and numerous graphical bugs arise, but there are certain achievements.
Recently, a PlayStation 5 emulator called “SharpEmu” was used to play the Demon’s Souls remake at 40 to 50 FPS. The creator of the YouTube channel PSXTech published a gameplay recording showing tests conducted on a PC equipped with a GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card and an Intel Core i9-14900K processor.
Notably, back in August, the mere fact that the Demon’s Souls remake could launch on PC was considered a major breakthrough. Gameplay became accessible in the following weeks, but the frame rate stayed very low, hovering around 30 FPS. If SharpEmu continues to develop at its current pace, there is a strong likelihood that tech enthusiasts will reach the coveted 60 FPS by the end of the year.

Tech enthusiasts recently highlighted the successful launch of an Unreal Engine 5 game on another PlayStation 5 emulator named “KyTyPS5.” Those tests were conducted using integrated graphics (iGPU).
