Demons, Hell and Co-op: New Painkiller Trailer Released

The creators of the new Painkiller brought the project back into the spotlight with a fresh trailer. Anshar Studios premiered the footage during the Horror Game Awards Halloween Showcase.

The reimagined shooter is slated for release on October 21, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The trailer is narrated by a demon and makes it clear the franchise is preparing a comeback.

Players can expect a dark, fast-paced, and brutal shooter pitting them against hordes of demons. The central mission is to stop the invasion led by the fallen angel Azazel and save Earth. Alongside the single-player campaign, there will be three-player co‑op.

The trailer highlights classic Painkiller signatures: gothic environments, high-octane combat, and a recognizable arsenal. The team has also introduced new features: a tarot-card upgrade system, four distinct characters (Ink, Void, Sol, and Roch), and Rogue Angel — a separate roguelike mode with procedural arenas and randomized rewards.
