Demon Hunters Smash UK Charts as “Golden” Becomes Longest-Running K-Pop No. 1

“Golden,” the chart-topping track from Netflix’s worldwide phenomenon KPop Demon Hunters, has secured its third consecutive week at number one on the U.K. Official Singles Chart for the week ending August 22. Official Singles Chart

Released under the moniker of the film’s fictional ensemble HUNTR/X, the single features performances by EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, and now stands as the most enduring K-pop record in the history of the U.K. charts.

When it initially ascended to the summit on August 1, “Golden” became only the second K-pop song ever to dominate the Official Singles Chart, joining PSY’s 2012 blockbuster “Gangnam Style,” which reigned for one week.

Meanwhile, Disco Lines and Tinashe’s sun-soaked anthem “No Broke Boys” climbs to a career-high peak of number two. Trailing at number three is Saja Boys, another imaginary act from KPop Demon Hunters, with “Soda Pop,” who also notch a second top-ten placement at number six with “Your Idol.”

Completing the top five, Chappell Roan’s former chart-topper “The Subway” remains steadfast at number four as she prepares for her Reading & Leeds debut on Friday, August 22. MK and Chrystal’s collaboration “Dior” secures the fifth spot.

Breakthrough sensation Olivia Dean achieves a remarkable feat, becoming the first British artist of 2025 to place three entries within the top twenty concurrently. Her newest offering, “Man I Need,” debuts at number eight, while “Nice to Each Other” ascends to number nine. These tracks share the top twenty with her Sam Fender collaboration “Rein Me In” at number eleven, and her July release “Lady Lady” holds at number thirty-eight.

BLACKPINK’s triumphant return single “JUMP” vaults to number twenty-two following the group’s Wembley Stadium performances on August 15 and 16. Further down, Gunna and Burna Boy’s collaboration “wgft” enters the top forty at number thirty-four.
