Demi Lovato is taking the time to reflect on filming their first sex scene in their nearly 20-year acting career.
Lovato — who has been acting since before they were 10 on Barney & Friends and got their big break on Disney Channel through the Camp Rock film franchise and Sonny With a Chance TV series — shared a photo of themselves via Instagram on Tuesday (July 20) laying down on a white pillow while wearing a black intimates set.
“Had to film a sex scene today. My first one!” Lovato started the lengthy caption. “I had a little anxiety going into it but the cast and crew were so professional and easy to work with, it calmed me down immediately. Then, I thought about how proud I am for being able to feel comfortable enough in my skin to do that.”
Lovato is set to star in and executive produce an upcoming NBC comedy series about eating disorders titled Hungry, which got a pilot order this year, although the post did not specify that the racy scene was shot for the series. But the post did underline Lovato’s “random burst of body confidence” by celebrating the star showing off their arms in the scene.
“I rarely ever showed my arms before.. now I’m in this!! (Granted, it barely shows anything BUT STILL),” they continued in the vulnerable post. “I don’t always feel good in my skin, so when I do, AND I feel sexy enough to post – I do just that! It’s important to celebrate the little wins. Yay for this random burst of body confidence and yay for awkward hilarious sex.”
The Dancing With the Devil singer is also slated to host their own talk show, The Demi Lovato Show, on the Roku Channel on July 30. They also landed a UFO investigation limited series on Peacock titled Unidentified With Demi Lovato.
