The announcement of Deliver Us Mars is quite recent, as the game was revealed at the end of March 2022 during the Future Game Show. We were treated to a first video, but which was there above all to lay the foundations and the atmosphere of the game. After two months of waiting, the sequel to Deliver us the Moon is finally ready to reveal its secrets to us, and especially its gameplay and mechanics. It is through this video of almost 6 min, a kind of Dev Diary, that we learn that the story takes place 10 years after the events of the Fortuna mission, and that it is a distress call from Mars which will push the Zephyr team to go to the red planet. There, the astronauts discover that Mars is dying, and that a way must be found to save it. The developers do insist that the story of Deliver Us Mars is not based on Manichaeism, that the borders of Good and Evil are very narrow and that the scenario is intended to be mature.
On the gameplay side, we are promised new game mechanics, more variety in the environments, with sandstorms to apprehend, bluish sunsets to discover, the whole having been studied for a cinematographic experience. Exploration will always be in order, as will life-size puzzles to be solved, always with this desire for solitude in a universe that we don’t always control. The output of Deliver Us Mars is still unclear, since apart from a “coming soon”, nothing has been announced. We just know that the game is planned for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
