British actor Ed Skrein, recognized for his role in “Deadpool,” has officially joined the ensemble of Prime Video’s upcoming “God of War” series.
Skrein is set to portray Baldur, the god of light and the eldest son of Odin (played by Mandy Patinkin). He joins a growing cast that already includes Ryan Hurst, Teresa Palmer, and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, among others.
While an official release date has yet to be announced, the series will follow the journey of Kratos (Hurst), a formidable figure rooted in Norse mythology. Driven by his late wife’s final wish, Kratos embarks on a trek to the highest peak in the realms alongside his ten-year-old son, Atreus (Callum Vinson), to scatter her ashes. Throughout their odyssey, Kratos must battle not only lethal monsters but also his own deep-seated fury for the sake of his son.
Skrein was most recently seen on the big screen in the blockbuster “Jurassic World: Rebirth.”
