Dan + Shay Ascend to the Heavens for ‘I Should Probably Go to Bed’ CMA Awards Performance

Dan + Shay made their CMA Awards return Wednesday night (Nov. 10) to perform their hit single “I Should Probably Go to Bed,” ascending to the rafters of Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

The duo performed in the center of a large X-shaped platform, with Dan taking to the piano and Shay belting the lyrics: “I should probably go to bed/ I should probably turn off my phone I should quit while I’m ahead/ I should probably leave you alone/ ‘Cause I know in the mornin’/ I’ll be callin’/ Sayin’ sorry for the things I said/ So I, yeah/ I should probably go to bed.”

As they performed, their platform continually rose closer to the ceiling of the arena, with the duo basically singing from the heavens by the end.

“I Should Probably Go to Bed” enjoyed 26 weeks on the Hot Country Songs chart, peaking in the No. 4 spot, and it rose as high as No. 2 on the Country Airplay chart in January.

Dan + Shay were nominated for one award at the 2021 CMA Awards, vocal duo of the year, but the prize went to Brothers Osbourne this time around.
