DaBaby Goes Back to High School in Rowdy ‘Ball If I Want To’ Video: Watch

As students around the country celebrate summer break, DaBaby is taking a trip back to high school in the rowdy visual for his new song “Ball If I Want To.”

In his music video directorial debut, the Charlotte rapper leads a spirited group of high school students through a wild library study session, cheerleaders twerking in the classroom, a food fight in the cafeteria, and other shenanigans on the basketball court.

The raucous two-minute clip, released Thursday (June 17), also features an unforgettable diaper-clad baby mascot, who shows off his moves on the court.

The raunchy “Ball If I Want To,” produced by D.A. Got That Dope, is DaBaby’s second new song of this year following “Masterpiece.” The rapper has been hard at work in recent months, appearing on songs by Yo Gotti (“Drop”), DJ Khaled (“I Did It”), and Polo G (“Party Lyfe”).

In May, DaBaby won the top rap song award for “Rockstar” at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. The single, featuring Roddy Ricch, spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“It’s nothing short of a blessing,” Baby said during his acceptance speech. “If y’all don’t press play, the music don’t get heard.”

DaBaby, who has seven nominations at the 2021 BET Awards, putting him in a tie with Megan Thee Stallion for the lead, is also set to perform on the show on June 27.
