Following last summer’s announcement of a standalone successor to the critically acclaimed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Netflix has finally unveiled a gripping new trailer. Along with this fresh footage, the streaming giant has confirmed that the highly anticipated sequel series is slated to premiere this fall.
Spanning 10 episodes, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 introduces an entirely fresh narrative and a new ensemble cast. While the neon-soaked sprawl of Night City remains the backdrop, the story shifts focus to four distinct newcomers: Weak Kingsley, D, Roman Carax, and Talia Yang.
Meet the New Cast
- Weak Kingsley: Once a legendary Edgerunner known simply as “King,” he now struggles to find purpose while living in the shadow of his former dominance.
- D: A specialized Snake Nation netrunner driven by a singular, cold-blooded quest to hunt down the killer of his clan.
- Talia Yang: A defector from the sterile heights of the Corpo towers whose true allegiances lie with the grit, chrome, and chaos of the streets.
- Roman Carax: A young, disillusioned cinephile searching for authentic human experiences in a metropolis that has long since traded traditional storytelling for the numbing allure of braindances.
Creative continuity is in capable hands, as director Kai Ikarashi returns to helm the project. He is joined by veteran lead designer Kanno Ichigo and Hugo Award-winning showrunner, writer, and producer Bartosz Sztybor, ensuring the sequel maintains the stylistic intensity of its predecessor.
