Cyberpunk 2077 is back on PlayStation Store after 6 months of ban, with a big warning

It was already 6 months ago: Cyberpunk 2077 was being withdrawn from PlayStation Store due to the deplorable technical state of the game on PS4, Sony Interactive Entertainment wishing to save its players from a bad experience. This Monday, June 21, 2021, PlayStation and CD Projekt Red have finally jointly announced the return of the game on the Sony online store, with an affordable price of € 49.99, just to make players want to take the plunge. If this is the PS4 version in question, we remind you that the game is playable on PS5, via backward compatibility, but that we will have to wait until the end of the year to take advantage of the next gen patch ‘to give a new look to the game. Despite this good news, Sony continues to have some reservations and point out that “users may continue to experience performance problems with the PS4 edition”. A warning message to remind you that the fixes are still in progress.

IMPORTANT: Users still have performance issues with this game. We do not recommend purchasing this game for playing on a PS4 system. For the best Cyberpunk 2077 experience, we recommend playing on PS4 Pro and PS5. Your game will also be playable on PS5.

Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment had said that the withdrawal of Cyberpunk 2077 was a difficult decision to make, but that he considered necessary in the face of the very complicated state of the game. Microsoft had preferred to display a warning message rather than to sanction CD Projekt Red, which ultimately had more of a bad press than a real backlash. It should be remembered that requests for reimbursement of the game represent only 30,000 copies in total, reimbursements made by the Polish studio, let us specify it all the same.
