Cyberpunk 2077 Hits Record 2.8 Million Mod Downloads in 24 Hours on mod.io After Update 2.5
Cyberpunk 2077 mods were downloaded 2.8 million times in a single day on mod.io. Many players welcomed the official mod support and rushed to download mods.
On October 22, CD Projekt RED returned to Cyberpunk 2077 with the large 2.5 update. It added content in the style of the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, new features and various improvements. It also added official mod support on consoles through the mod.io platform, as in the recent remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Mod.io representatives soon recorded a download record. According to them, Cyberpunk 2077 mods were downloaded 2.8 million times within 24 hours.
Paweł Sasko, quest director of the original game and game director of the sequel, responded to the news. As usual, his message ended with a crying (tears of joy) emoji:
I’m simply overwhelmed with emotion at such an incredible response, choombas. My main priority is to delight you with a worthy catalog of mods and turn Cyberpunk 2077 into a real modding platform.
Paweł Sasko recently said during a RedStreams broadcast that CD Projekt RED employs many former modders. These developers are now working on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel.
