Creators of The Apothecary Diaries Release Creditless Opening for Season 3
The premiere of the first episode took place in Japan on October 2.
TOHO Animation released the creditless opening sequence for the third season of The Apothecary Diaries. The video features the song “Kumo wo Nuke Kazashimo e Watashi Dake” by the band Yorushika.
The new season began airing in Japan on October 2. This time, Maomao’s investigation starts right at breakfast when locusts are served, and she suspects foul play. The search for answers will take her outside the imperial palace, first to the city streets and then to a neighboring state. Meanwhile, Jinshi must take on the duties of the emperor’s younger brother and deal with the portents of an impending disaster facing the country.
Studio OLM is handling the production. Akinori Fudesaka serves as director, Norihiro Naganuma oversees series composition, and Yukiko Nakatani prepared the character designs. Satoru Kosaki, Kevin Penkin, and Arisa Okehazama continue to compose the music.
The third season will be split into two cours. The second half will begin airing in April 2027. During the break, on December 11, Japanese theaters will host the premiere of a feature-length anime film featuring an original story by light novel author Natsu Hyuuga. Additionally, a live-action series based on The Apothecary Diaries is in development for Prime Video.
