Friends star Courteney Cox has spent the pandemic re-uniting with her TV family and playing a series of impressive covers in a bid to entertain us during the long, long lockdown. On Wednesday (August 4), she made it a family affair by inviting 17 year-old daughter Coco Arquette to join in on the action.
The pair posted their moving mom-and-daughter cover of Adele’s breakthrough 2008 single “Chasing Pavements,” with Cox handling the piano bits as Coco busted out some impressive vocals. “I love my Coconut’s voice,” Cox captioned the clip, which drew a bunch of A-list props from friends and family.
Irish singer Ryan McMullan gave it a mind-blown and fire emoji, while Eddie Vedder’s wife, Jill, praised Coco’s “beautiful voice,” actress Octavia Spencer wrote, “Burn it down, Coco!!!” and rocker/actress Juliette Lewis raved, “WOW WOW had no idea. What a deep beautiful powerful texured voice!!” The pair were joined by Cox’s frequent musical collaborator Joel Taylor on acoustic guitar.
It’s not the first time that Cox has blessed her fans with a COVID-era cover, following her earlier team-up with Coco in May for a cover of Taylor Swift’s “Cardigan,” as well as the actresses’ February ramble through Olivia Rodrigo’s breakthrough hit, “Drivers License.”
