Although several years have passed, Remedy hasn’t forgotten Control — the studio is preparing a free update for modern platforms.
The studio remains busy with numerous projects, yet continues to support one of its recent releases. A few months ago the team rolled out a major patch for Control: Ultimate Edition that added a new mission featuring Hideo Kojima, which had previously been exclusive to Digital Deluxe owners on PS4. The update also introduced HDR support, improved ray-tracing options, and compatibility with ultrawide monitors.
Until now those enhancements were available only on PC, with the console launch delayed. Remedy has confirmed the wait is nearly over. The update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will be released on October 6, 2025.
The developers revealed the date in an official announcement and promised that the full list of changes will be published on the patch’s release day.
