Wishbone, Conan Gray’s latest release, emerged as fans’ top pick in this week’s music poll.
In a survey published Friday, August 1, by Billboard, listeners selected the pop singer’s newest LP as the standout release of the week.
Wishbone captivated audiences during a week that also featured new tracks from Chance The Rapper, Cardi B and more. Nearly 80% of respondents crowned Gray’s fourth studio album their favorite.
“I named it Wishbone because relationships remind me of wishbones,” Gray told Billboard. “It’s the only wishing ritual that involves two people: you’re essentially betting on whose wish will come true. If yours does, you win; if it doesn’t, the other person walks away with nothing.”
He added, “Working on this record was an absolute blast. Writing the lyrics had me grinning from ear to ear as I poured out everything on my mind. It felt incredibly liberating—hands down the most joy I’ve ever experienced crafting an album, which is ironic given how heartbreak-laden it is.”

Spanning 12 tracks and highlighted as an editor’s pick in Billboard’s Friday Music Guide, the album features the single “Vodka Cranberry”—“a song that truly embodies the record,” Gray says. His vocals soar through a haunting late-night chorus: “Speak up, I know you hate me… got way too drunk off a vodka cranberry.”
Rounding out the poll are Chance The Rapper’s Star Line with 11% of votes, Cardi B’s “Imaginary Playerz” at 3%, followed by Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need,” Dijon’s Baby, Kaytranada’s Ain’t No Damn Way! and Jordan Davis’ Learn the Hard Way.
