Rust Community Update 79 — community drones, jetpacks and builds

Facepunch published Rust Community Update 79 on 22 March 2016. The roundup collected player-made models, ambitious server builds, design concepts and videos created around the survival game.

A community-made drone model

Artist Surge turned a Facepunch concept into a detailed 3D drone and recorded the modelling process. The drone was a community project rather than an announced item for the live game. The same update also highlighted concepts for jetpacks, boats, rafts and tornadoes.

Large builds and organized servers

One player recreated the Eiffel Tower with prison bars and doors. Rust County Council UK spent seven days building a large arena for organized events. Both projects showed how construction systems could support landmarks and shared activities beyond ordinary bases.

Music and role-playing ideas

A player proposal described a music system with separate guitar, drum, horn and flute parts. The roundup also included a community role-playing video built around everyday life and character interactions on a Rust server.
