New cuts of Coldplay keep coming, with the release of a new live EP, a remix and a forthcoming concert film.
First up, Swedish electronic duo Galantis work their magic on “My Universe,” Coldplay’s latest collaboration with BTS.
“My Universe” was already a smash before Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklöw jumped on board. The single hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the sixth Hot 100 No. 1 for BTS in two years, and Coldplay’s second chart-topping entry after 2008’s “Viva La Vida.”
“Putting the Galantis spin on this track was a thrill,” says Karlsson in a statement, “and an absolute bucket list moment working on music with these two legendary bands.”
But wait, there’s more. Following Coldplay’s venue-opening concert last month at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena, the British pop-rock outfit unlocks a four-track recording from the night.
Live From Climate Pledge Arena is an exclusive to Amazon Music, and features “Viva La Vida” and the classic “Fix You” alongside two songs from their new LP, Music Of The Spheres.
The full concert film streamed live to more than a million viewers worldwide via Amazon Music, Prime Video and Twitch, and will release to Prime Video on Nov. 12.
Following its arrival last month, Music Of The Spheres rolled to the top of sales charts around the globe. In the U.K., Spheres barreled to No. 1 with more than 100,000 first-week combined sales, for the band’s ninth consecutive chart-leading studio set, an unbroken streak that stretches back to 2000’s Parachutes. In the U.S., Spheres debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Chris Martin and Co. will support their latest effort with a full-scale stadium tour, scheduled to kick off at Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica on March 18, 2022.
