Codemasters: EA buys nose and beard studio from Take Two Interactive

While Codemasters seemed promised to Take Two Interactive who had made an offer to purchase $ 870 million, racing game specialists opted for Electronic Arts and its last-minute offer. It must be said that Andrew Wilson’s firm did not go into detail to get its hands on mechanical sport specialists, by formulating a much higher offer. EA will indeed release $ 1.2 billion to recover the British entity. It must be said that the American publisher is rather helpless in terms of motorsports, with a catalog that boils down to Need For Speed, Burnout and Real Racing on mobiles. For its part, Codemasters arrives with its arms loaded with licenses with F1, DiRT, GRID, Project CARS, and soon WRC. The buyout should not change the structure of Codemasters or the way it works. It remains to be seen if the games will be badged EA, EA Sports, or if a new label will arrive.
