Code Geass Franchise to Return Next Year With ‘Aspal: The Star Seeker’ Trailer

Studio Sunrise has released the first teaser trailer for Code Geass: Star Chaser Aspal, a new anime project in the franchise timed to its 20th anniversary.

The teaser showcases a world reminiscent of medieval Europe, which has already sparked discussions among fans. Fans speculate that the new anime will take place either in a parallel world or in a different historical period or region where technology developed differently.

For now, these are only theories, as the creators have not shared plot details or revealed how Aspal connects to previous projects in the franchise.

Kazuya Nomura, who worked on Run with the Wind and Moriarty the Patriot, is directing the anime. Mado Nozaki, known for KADO: The Right Answer, is handling the series composition, while artist Rolua prepared the character designs.

Japanese sculptor and 3D modeler Yoshi, who previously worked on machine lifeform and flight unit designs in NieR: Automata, has also joined the team. In the new Code Geass, Yoshi is responsible for designing the Agarmath, which is presumably the name of a new mecha model.

Code Geass: Star Chaser Aspal will be released in 2027. An exact premiere date has not been announced yet.
