Claire Danes’ “The Beast Within Me” Renewed for Second Season

Netflix has officially greenlit a second season of the limited series The Beast in Me, according to industry reports.

Debuting in the autumn of 2025, the series follows Aggie Wiggs (Claire Danes), an author who retreated from the public eye following the tragic loss of her son. She finds newfound inspiration for her latest work in her neighbor, Nile Sheldon (Matthew Rhys), a powerful tycoon accused of murdering his wife. As the narrative unfolds, Aggie becomes entangled in a high-stakes, perilous game with Sheldon, a man shrouded in dark secrets.

The series was created by Gabe Rotter (The X-Files), with Howard Gordon (Homeland) serving as showrunner. Danes is slated to step behind the camera to direct several episodes of the upcoming season. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the first season garnered significant critical acclaim, notably earning Matthew Rhys an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series.
