CircoLoco Partners With Rockstar Games For New Dance Label Featuring an Elite Group of Artists

“CircoLoco” is essentially a hallowed term in the world of dance music, with the Monday night party birthed out of Ibiza’s techno mecca DC-10 gaining influence and prestige during its more than 20 year run.

But now, you don’t have to actually go to CircoLoco in order to actually hear the sounds of CircoLoco. (Which is especially useful as the club is currently still closed due to COVID-19.)

CircoLoco and Rockstars Games announced a collaborative label, CircoLoco Records, on Monday (May 24). The imprint’s first release will be a compilation album, due July 9,  featuring new tracks by the who’s who of the dance world underground, including longstanding DC-10 resident Seth Troxler, Moodymann, The Blessed Madonna, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Damian Lazarus, DJ Tennis, Red Axes, Jamie Jones, Bedouin and more.

“CircoLoco has always been about the passion for finding the best music, supporting artists and bringing them to the people in the purest way possible,” CircoLoco Founder Antonio Carbonaro says in a statement. “CircoLoco Records is a natural next step for us, giving us a chance to bring the music we love to people everywhere.”

CircoLoco Records’ first release — Troxler’s hypnotic “Lumartes (Extended)” — is out now. Listen to the track below. Following this release will be the Monday Dreamin’ Blue EP, which will drop June 4 and be followed by another EP coming every week in the lead up to the full project.

Rockstar Games, the maker of myriad games including the revered Grand Theft Auto, is a longtime advocate of underground dance music, with artists including The Blessed Madonna, Moodymann and more making appearances in various versions of GTA. This same game has also featured in-game radio stations hosted by artists and creators including Frank Ocean and Karl Lagerfeld.

“Music is fundamental to Rockstar Games – it’s part of everything we do,” Rockstar Games Founder, Sam Houser is quoted in a press release. “Partnering with our friends at CircoLoco is part of our ongoing efforts to find new ways to bring the very best underground music to the widest audience possible.”
