Chronoscript: The Endless End — a game where every word decides the hero’s fate; PlayStation unveiled the most unusual game at State of Play

At the PlayStation State of Play showcase one of the more curious announcements came from DeskWorks Inc. and Shueisha Games — Chronoscript: The Endless End. The developers are the team behind RPG Time: The Legend of Wright.

The game plunges the player into an uncanny realm where an editor finds himself trapped within the pages of an endless manuscript. His mission is to locate the route to the final chapter, written by an author who has lived for a thousand years. The result is an inventive fusion of literature and action in which every word matters.

Gameplay unfolds across two planes: 3D exploration through a deserted mansion overflowing with manuscripts, and 2D journeys across illustrated worlds that come alive on the pages. Players will traverse thousands of sheets, battle foes burdened by grievances from past lives, and slowly unravel the bond between the editor and the enigmatic writer.

The studio promises a distinctive atmosphere, a recognizable visual language, and a rich adventure that melds exploration with combat.

Chronoscript: The Endless End is slated for release in 2026 on PS5 and PC.
