Chris Evans just took a DNA test and he’s 100% the father of Lizzo‘s fake baby.
The Captain America actor watched the “Truth Hurts” singer spill the tea last week about her faux pregnancy in a TikTok video, where she hinted the baby was his. In a new TikTok clip from Monday (Aug. 2), Lizzo showed how Evans was playing along with her original joke by revealing his Instagram direct messages to her. The 40-year-old actor first wrote, “Hi! Just heard about our little bundle of joy” with a laughing emoji. “My mother will be so happy lol.”
He followed it up with a side note: “(Just promise me no gender reveal parties lol).”
A glammed-up and giddy Lizzo included the screenshots of their messages in the new clip, which seems to have been soundtracked by a snippet of her upcoming single “Rumors,” that read, “Guess what besties?! We secured the child support bag!!!!”
The 33-year-old artist continued celebrating the good as hell rumor by writing in the video’s caption, “OMG YALL— HE SAW THE BABY BUMP! WE DID IT! NOW YALL GOTTA NAME LIL MERICA!!!!! WHAT YALL BOUTA NAME MY BABY ?!”
Last week, Lizzo responded to a curious fan on TikTok about being pregnant with Evans’ baby with a video of herself standing in a kitchen as the Captain America theme song played in the background. “This is something that I’ve been really trying to keep personal and private just between me and the father of my child, but since we’re airing out all the rumors today,” Lizzo said before putting down the phone to reveal her belly, “I’ve been sucking in!” She smiled happily while rubbing her fake baby bump and joyously yelling, “We’re going to have a little America!”
A lot has gone down in the DMs for these two. The “Juice” singer advised her 17.1 million TikTok followers in April, “Don’t drink and DM, kids,” and she was guilty of just that when she drunkenly slid into the Knives Out star’s DMs and sent a series of emojis — wind, female athlete and a basketball — indicating she had apparently tried “shooting her shot” at him. “The reason I’m upset about this one is because I know I’m not going to be able to marry him,” she explained at the time. “And honestly, it hurts me to the core, because damn, papa! He a rare breed!”
Later on, the Grammy-winning pop star revealed that Evans not only started following her on Instagram, but that he also responded to her. “No shame in a drunk DM,” he replied with a kissy-face emoji. “God knows I’ve done worse on this app.”
