The blockbuster sequel Cheburashka 2 has officially crossed the 6 billion ruble mark in total box office receipts, according to the latest data released by the EAIS tracking system.
The film reached this historic threshold in just 52 days, becoming only the second production in the history of Russian cinema to achieve such a result. It follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, the original Cheburashka, which set the record in 2023 with a total of 6.793 billion rubles.
Premiering on January 1st, the feature stars Sergey Garmash, Elena Yakovleva, and Polina Maksimova. Directed by Dmitry Dyachenko, the project also saw Olga Kuzmina return to provide the iconic voice for the title character. The film’s production budget was estimated at 1.5 billion rubles.
