In tonight’s ultimate episode of the Lifetime documentary sequence “Surviving R. Kelly,” Chance the Rapper made an look, as Rolling Stone and NBC level out. Rolling Stone states that in his interview, Chance confessed that recording his 2015 tune “Somewhere in Paradise” with Jeremih and Kelly was a “mistake.” “I didn’t value the accusers’ stories because they were black women,” Chance advised interviewer Jamilah Lemieux. “I made a mistake.”
According to Rolling Stone, it’s unclear whether or not Chance’s feedback have been recorded in accordance with “Surviving R. Kelly” or if it was unreleased footage from an unrelated interview.
After Rolling Stone reported on Chance’s look within the sequence, the rapper took to Twitter to deal with his feedback. He wrote:
“The quote was taken out of context, but the truth is any of us who ever ignored the R Kelly stories, or ever believed he was being setup/attacked by the system (as black men often are) were doing so at the detriment of black women and girls. I apologize to all of his survivors for working with him and for taking this long to speak out.”

“Surviving R. Kelly” was a three-part sequence that aired from Thursday, January three to Saturday, January 5. It featured interviews with Kelly’s ex-wife Andrea Kelly, Kelly accusers like Kitti Jones, and extra. It was lately revealed that a number of musicians turned down the request for participation, which reportedly included Erykah Badu, JAY-Z, Lady Gaga, and extra. Along with Chance the Rapper, John Legend and R&B singer Stephanie “Sparkle” Edwards have been the one musicians to seem in “Surviving R. Kelly.” In December 2018, an occasion selling the docuseries was evacuated by the NYPD after a gun risk was referred to as in on the venue.
