Cardi B Says Offset Harbors “Some Type of Hate” in His Heart: “I Wish He Were a Better Person”

Cardi B made it plain that her relationship with estranged husband Offset remains strained. In the second portion of her CBS Mornings interview with Gayle King — published September 18, 2025 — the Bronx rapper said the situation between them is, in her words, “it is what it is.”

During the conversation, Cardi explained that she and Offset are not co-parenting their three children at present. She suggested that lingering hard feelings on his part have made collaboration difficult and urged he put the kids first.

“I just wish he was a better person, but it is what it is,” Cardi told King, adding that she wants him to behave better for their children’s sake. She emphasized that she has limited contact and has taken steps to separate their lives.

Cardi noted she formally filed for divorce in July 2024 and said she does not maintain an ongoing relationship with her estranged husband. When King asked whether Offset is participating in a co-parenting role, Cardi replied, “Not right now.”

She expanded on the point, saying that if both parents could move forward without resentment they should be able to share the everyday moments of raising kids — from celebrating report cards to exchanging updates — but that, currently, the dynamic feels like something else entirely.

Cardi and Offset share daughters Kulture and Blossom and son Wave. The couple were married for roughly seven years before Cardi refiled for divorce in July 2024 after an earlier filing in 2020 that was later withdrawn when they reconciled.

Offstage developments include Cardi’s relationship with NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs, which began this spring; she announced on September 17, 2025 that the two are expecting a child together. Separately, Offset told a photographer for TMZ that he plans to support Cardi’s upcoming album, Am I the Drama?, which is scheduled for release on September 19, 2025, and said he hopes for peace and mutual success for the family.
