Busta Rhymes Signs With CAA

Busta Rhymes is making moves. The legendary MC has signed on with CAA for representation in all areas worldwide. Rhymes was previously repped by APA.

The rapper first hit scene with hip-hop group Leaders of the New School in 1990 before he began solo work alongside Mary J. Blige, Notorious B.I.G. and more. Since then Rhymes has become a multi-platinum selling rapper and record producer/executive. His albums have sold a combined 7.9 million copies, according to MRC Data.

Rhymes has had 20 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and landed nine albums on the Billboard 200. Ten of his singles have landed on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, landing two No. 1 hits with 1999’s “What’s It Gonna Be?” and his 2011 collaboration with Chris Brown and Lil Wayne on “Look At Me Now.” According to MRC Data, Rhymes’ catalog has earned 1 billion on-demand U.S. streams. Last year his latest album, t, reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200.

Throughout his career, Rhymes has been nominated for 12 Grammy awards and toured with some of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B. He has joined Diddy, Public Enemy, Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu on tour since the 1990s.

Rhymes has appeared in film and television over the past three decades, including roles in Shaft, Finding Forrester, The Steve Harvey Show and Master of None, as well as voice acting in Rugrats and The Rugrats Movie. Last year he also competed on The Masked Singer.

The rapper continues to be managed by Steve Rifkind and Anthony Botter.
