Rumors have been around for years now of Bully 2, a game Rockstar Games has decided to sacrifice for rather obscure reasons. Time problems? Resources? Quality control? Questions that had gone unanswered since time that we know that some studios worked on the sequel to Canis.Canem.Edit in October 2019, remember. But new rumors emanating from two insiders, Tez2 and Yan2295, to whom we owe some leaks, come to put on the carpet the sacrifice of a game that a whole community would have liked to see emerge from the laboratories of Rockstar Games. According to the comments made by Tez2, the development of Bully 2 would have been definitively canceled in 2017 for the needs of larger projects. Which ? Those of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA VI, from which we learn that the pre-production phase started in 2015, before being slowed down (or even put aside) in 2017 to properly manage the production of Red Dead Redemption 2.
The cancellation of Bully 2 is also a recurring subject internally at Rockstar Games since the game has already been canceled twice, the first in 2009 and the second time in 2013, for reasons similar to the final cancellation in 2017. Do we still have a chance to one day see the new adventures of Jimmy Hopkins? It’s hard to say when you know that Rockstar Games is working on both the production of GTA VI, but also the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S versions of GTA 5, expected at the end of 2021. In the meantime, we have want to remember that in 2017, Bully 2 pre-production artwork leaked and envisioned a continuation in the right lineage of the first: subversive and politically incorrect.
