BTS spends a 19th week atop the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated Aug. 7), extending the South Korean septet’s record for the most weeks at No. 1 among duos or groups since the chart began in 2014, thanks to the continued success of the act’s hit singles “Butter” and “Permission to Dance.”
“Butter” leads the Billboard Hot 100 for a ninth week, surpassing Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” for the longest-reigning No. 1 of 2021. “Permission to Dance” ranks at No. 9 after debuting atop the chart two weeks earlier.
Dating to the Artist 100’s launch, only three other acts have spent more time at No. 1 than BTS: Taylor Swift (48 weeks), Drake (32) and The Weeknd (22).
Elsewhere on the Artist 100, The Kid LAROI vaults 19-4, reaching the top 10 for the first time, as his 2020 release F*ck Love becomes his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The set reigns with 85,000 equivalent album units, according to MRC Data, sparked by two new reissues on July 23 and July 27.
Plus, EST Gee debuts at No. 56 on the Artist 100 (the chart’s sole debut this week), as his new LP Bigger Than Life or Death jumps 65-7 on the Billboard 200 after its first full tracking week (30,000 units).
The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
