BTS Shares Behind-the-Scenes Look at Their Visit to Mexico’s National Palace

BTS is set to provide an exclusive look behind their high-profile visit to Mexico’s National Palace. This Wednesday, May 27, the global K-pop icons will release a special feature on their official channels, documenting their historic encounter with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum earlier this month.

The septet teased the project on their Instagram stories this past Tuesday, building anticipation for the release. Titled “BTS Visits Mexico’s National Palace: Behind The Scenes,” the short film is scheduled to premiere globally at 8:00 p.m. KST (7:00 a.m. ET / 5:00 a.m. Mexico City time).

Viewers can expect an intimate glimpse into the group’s meeting with the President. The footage is also expected to capture the monumental moment when RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook stepped onto the historic balcony of the National Palace. It was there, overlooking the Zócalo, that the band greeted an estimated 50,000 fans who had gathered for a chance to see them.

Leading up to their three-night residency at the GNP Seguros Stadium for the ARIRANG tour, the members shared heartwarming messages in both Spanish and English, connecting deeply with the local ARMY. Despite the intense regional heat, dedicated fans lined up for hours, eager to witness the global superstars in person.

Following the visit, President Sheinbaum expressed her gratitude via social media, sharing a photo with the group and noting that “Music and values unite Mexico and South Korea.” However, the invitation was not without controversy, as some followers cautioned against the political optics surrounding the visit. While Sheinbaum has previously hinted at a potential return for the band in 2027, both BigHit Music and HYBE have yet to provide official confirmation regarding future tour dates in the region.

The President has been a vocal supporter of the band’s presence in Mexico, even going so far as to formally petition South Korean leadership to encourage more tour dates in the country following the rapid sell-out of the group’s initial concert series.
