Securing a shout-out from Drake is a definitive milestone in any artist’s career. When the global rap icon name-dropped BTS on his latest studio album, Iceman, members j-hope and V couldn’t help but share their authentic, unfiltered reactions with fans.
In an Instagram Story posted this past Friday, May 15, the duo is seen enjoying some downtime together. As they grooved to Drake’s track “Make Them Cry,” the mood shifted to pure shock when the lyrics hit: “I’m feeling like BTS, ’cause it took the whole career for me to be so discovered.” The pair immediately froze, casting stunned, wide-eyed glances at the camera in a moment of playful disbelief.
V, known for his track “Love Me Again,” opted to let the clip speak for itself, sharing the video without a caption but tagging Drake directly.
This isn’t the first time the music heavyweights have crossed paths. The relationship dates back to 2018, when Drake featured a viral clip of j-hope participating in the “In My Feelings” dance challenge within the song’s official music video.
“Make Them Cry” stands out as one of many surprises from the Toronto hitmaker, who caught fans off guard by dropping a trio of projects this Friday: Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti.
BTS is also riding a wave of massive success following the March release of their latest album, ARIRANG. The project held the top spot on the Billboard 200 for three weeks, with the lead single “SWIM” debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Currently, the septet is traveling the globe for their stadium tour, which recently brought them to Mexico City for an electrifying three-night residency at Estadio GNP Seguros.
