BTS and their ARMY are an unstoppable force right now.
The K-pop superstars dropped “Butter” last week, and immediately smashed records. Yes, that’s plural. “Butter” was so slick, it blasted past 20.9 million global streams on Spotify in just 24 hours, setting a new opening day record for streams on that platform.
The lads also smashed their own record for most YouTube views in the first 24-hours of release, with 113 million hits.
The septet brought that winning form into Sunday night’s 2021 Billboard Music Awards, where they gave the debut television performance of “Butter” and snagged some silverware along the way, including Top Duo/Group, Top Song Sales Artist and the fan-voted Top Social Artist honor.
Of course, ARMY was elated with all this BTS action at the BBMAs. And fans shared the love online with memes and messages as BTS trended on social media well into the night.
