BTS Nails ‘Butter’ Choreography in Dance Practice Video

BTS Nails ‘Butter’ Choreography in Dance Practice Video

Talk about smooth like “Butter”! BTS shared a dance practice video for their latest hit, “Butter,” on Tuesday (May 25), and not surprisingly, the global superstars are practically perfect when it comes to their dancing.

In the video, which features the guys showing off their moves in a big studio while their second English-language single plays, RM, Jimin, Jungkook, V, Sugar, Jin and J-Hope are more casual than in the official visual. While practicing their choreography, BTS were dressed in comfy street clothes as opposed to the sleek outfits in the “Butter” video, and were all smiles during the energetic dance.

The choreography shared in the video appears to be the moves the septet offered up at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 23), where they performed “Butter” — remotely from South  Korea — for the first time. In addition to giving fans the joyful performance, BTS were big winners that night, triumphant in all four categories they were finalists in: Top Selling Song for “Dynamite,” Top Social Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, and Top Duo/Group.

But there was even more for BTS to celebrate. YouTube confirmed that the video for “Butter,” which arrived May 21, smashed two records in its first weekend. Numbers provided by the streaming service revealed that the visual set a new 24-hour record with 108.2 million views. The previous record holder? BTS themselves with “Dynamite,” which originally set the record with 101.1 million views.

The other YouTube record was for peak concurrents. “Butter” earned more than 3.9 million, and again, replaced “Dynamite,” which set the record in August with more than three million peak concurrents.
