BTS’ “Dynamite” Surpasses Two Billion Views on YouTube

Published: Aug. 20, 2020 (video release) — milestone reached afterwards

BTS’ buoyant music video for “Dynamite” has now exceeded two billion views on YouTube, becoming the first of the group’s videos to reach that extraordinary milestone.

Released on Aug. 20, 2020, the vibrant, choreography-focused clip follows RM, V, Suga, Jimin, Jung Kook, Jin and j-hope as they move through a series of playful sets — from a bedroom and a record shop to a disco and a basketball court — all backing the track’s infectious, feel-good energy. “Dynamite,” the group’s first full English-language single, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated Sept. 5, 2020, and held the top spot for three weeks. The single later earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2021 and was certified five-times Platinum by the RIAA in May 2024.

The milestone for “Dynamite” adds to BTS’ impressive streaming resume: the group has multiple videos with view counts in the billions. Notable tallies include “Boy With Luv” (featuring Halsey), “DNA,” the Steve Aoki remix of “MIC Drop,” “Idol,” “Fake Love,” “Butter” and “Blood Sweat & Tears,” each registering at or above the billion-view mark.

All seven members have completed their mandatory military service and reunited publicly in July, announcing plans for a full-group comeback. The band said they would begin collaborating closely on new material starting that month, and indicated the next group album is scheduled for release in spring 2026. They also confirmed a global tour to support the upcoming record, promising performances for fans around the world.
