BTS‘ “Butter” holds atop Billboard‘s Songs of the Summer chart (dated Sept. 4) with just a week left to go in the competition for the season’s hottest hit.
The 20-position Songs of the Summer running tally tracks the most popular titles based on cumulative performance on the weekly streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Billboard Hot 100 from Memorial Day through Labor Day (this year encompassing charts dated June 12 through Sept. 11). At the end of the season, the top song of the summer will be revealed.
“Butter,” a nine-week No. 1 on the Hot 100 (at No. 7 on the latest list), keeps at No. 1 on the Songs of the Summer chart over a static top five, followed by Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U,” Dua Lipa’s “Levitating,” Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More,” featuring SZA, and The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s “Save Your Tears” at Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5, respectively.
“Butter” has led Songs of the Summer each week this season.
