The premiere of the video for BTS‘ “Butter” has shattered a number of records at YouTube in its first weekend. According to data provided by YouTube, the “Butter” video set a new all-time 24-hour record of 108.2 million views, which, of course, breaks the band’s own previous record of 101.1 million views for their first English-language hit, “Dynamite.”
In addition to holding the No. 1 and No. 2 all-time top 24-hour music video debut spots, the group also beat another one of their records, with the biggest YouTube music video premiere after “Butter” racked up more than 3.9 million peak concurrents. “Dynamite” set the record last August with more than three million peak concurrents.
BTS also had a big night at Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards, winning all four awards they were up for: top selling song, top duo/group, top song sales and top social artist. They also delivered the debut performance of “Butter” for the event, which was performed remotely from South Korea.
On Monday morning (May 24), BTS announced their two-day “Muster Sowoozoo” livestream event, which will celebrate the K-pop superstars’ eighth anniversary and ARMY on June 13-14. More information about tickets for the digital party for the seven-man South Korean boy band and their fans will be released soon, according to a statement.
