The semifinals of America’s Got Talent is no time for half-chances. So Brooke Simpson brought out the big guns.
The North Carolina singer hit a cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits,” a song so big it’s been No. 1 in the U.K. for the past 10 weeks.
Simpson is no stranger to the big stage. She competed in the 2017 edition of The Voice as part of Team Miley, finishing third overall. Following her strong run, she went to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart with “Amazing Grace” and the Christmas classic “O Holy Night.”
The native American artist has released a string of singles, including “Little Bit Crazy,” “Stick Like Honey” and more.
Following her latest performance, Simon Cowell said she “genuinely” deserved to be in next week’s final. Howie Mandel continued, “Indigenous people owned America and I think with this performance, you took it back.”
