Blizzard Unprepared for Influx of Players into WoW: Mists of Pandaria Classic Mega-Worlds
WoW Classic fans found themselves waiting in queues once again.
Recently Blizzard opened free character transfers to the World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic mega-realms. These servers were meant to be effectively “unlimited,” but in practice the team was not prepared for the volume of players.
Over the weekend the influx was so great that players of WoW Mists of Pandaria Classic encountered login queues.
A representative of the WoW Classic team addressed players and issued an apology — developers had planned to raise the limit during the next scheduled maintenance:
“Fixed, and we apologize. The new limit was intended to take effect with the weekly realm restart, and on Friday we were still far from that point. However, far more users logged in over the weekend. The limit has now been increased, and this problem should no longer occur.”
