Are you ready, Blinks? BLACKPINK‘s Lisa is gearing up to release her debut solo single album, LALISA, which she announced with a glossy album cover rollout via Instagram on Wednesday (Aug. 25).
“MY FIRST SINGLE ALBUM RELEASE 2021.09.10 1PM (KST),” Lisa captioned the post, which shows her posing in a red bandana-print two-piece set and braided gray pigtails.
“#LISA FIRST SINGLE ALBUM LALISA TEASER POSTER,” BLACKPINK’S official Twitter account also tweeted.
The official release date comes just days after Lisa teased fans by sharing that her upcoming solo effort was “coming soon” in a separate Instagram posted to her account on Sunday.
Lisa is the third member of BLACKPINK to release solo material. Jennie was the first, releasing her debut track, “Solo,” in 2018. Rosé was the second member of the group to make her solo debut and dropped her first single album, R, in March of this year. Jisoo has yet to tease a solo single, but BLACKPINK’s label, YG Entertainment, confirmed its imminent arrival in a Twitter statement in May 2020.
So what can we expect from Lisa’s debut? The details have been kept under lock and key, but chart success may be in her future: Rosé’s “On the Ground” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts at the time of its release, while BLACKPINK’s The Album soared to the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 and spent 26 weeks on the chart.
