Black Library to Open Pre-Orders for “Blood of the Kraken” and Other Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar Books

Fans of the Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar universes will have plenty to read soon — titles such as Krakenblood, Abraxia: Spear of the Everchosen, Anvils of the Heldenhammer: The Ancients, and more are on the way.

Black Library announced today which books will be available for preorder beginning October 18, 2025.

You’ll be able to pick up Krakenblood by Mark Collins in two formats — a special edition and a standard edition. The story follows the Space Wolves’ priest Ivar, who receives a personal mission from Ulric “the Killer.” The special edition includes an introduction by the author and the short story “The Price of Morkai.”

That special edition is bound in black cloth, features stencil-printed artwork with gold foil accents, black-edged pages, and a ribbon marker. Also arriving is the standard edition of Abraxia: Spear of the Everchosen by Chris Tursten, which centers on a lieutenant of Archaon who, alongside the forces of Chaos, invades Giran.

The anthology The Dark Coil: Ascension by Peter Fehervari will also be offered; it collects the novels Dream and Infernal Requiem and includes eight short stories.

Also slated for release are Anvils of the Heldenhammer: The Ancients by Dale Lucas and the collection On the Shoulders of Giants and Other Stories, which features the novella On the Shoulders of Giants by Adrian Tchaikovsky alongside eleven short stories from authors including Hal Wilson, Liana Mercier, Noah Van Nguyen, Anna Stevens, and others.

In addition, a French edition of A Rose in the Dark by Danny Wyer will be published, and a German edition titled Minka Lesk: The Last White Shield — which contains three novels and two short stories by Justin D. Hill — will also be released. The above books are expected to arrive in stores on November 1, 2025.
