Beneath — a PS3-era horror reimagined with a modern twist; trailer and demo available on Steam

Beneath was unveiled in 2023 as a next‑generation horror experience. Now players can judge how much of that lofty promise has actually endured.

Many commentators have poked fun at the “next‑gen” label attached to Beneath. Its visuals fall short of several contemporary benchmarks, but it’s worth remembering the project is being built by just two developers. A demo from studio Camel 101 is already available, with Wired Productions handling publishing duties.

The developers describe Beneath as a tribute to the golden era of PS3/Xbox 360 titles, wrapped in Lovecraftian horror.

The Beneath demo can be downloaded for free via the Steam page, and a trailer is also available.

The developers say a release on PC, XSX|S and PS5 is imminent. The game blends horror and shooter mechanics and is expected to launch before the end of 2025.
