Bebe Rexha Recalls Taylor Swift’s Support After Struggling to Find a Designer to Dress Her for 2019 Grammys

Bebe Rexha recalled how Taylor Swift reached out to support her after she struggled to find a designer willing to dress her for the 2019 Grammys, speaking to E! News on the red carpet at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (Sept. 27).

Rexha previously stated that she had difficulty securing designers for the ceremony because of her body type. After she shared that experience publicly, Swift reached out to help.

“I couldn’t find a dress, and she had reached out to me because we’re the same age,” Rexha told E! News. “I thought that was really, really, really kind of her.”

Swift’s prominent position in the music industry made the gesture even more impactful.

“Nobody really reached out — like, some people did — but for her, at such a high level, to like, make me feel like I belong was really, really nice,” she said.

Rexha attended the VMAs in an all-black Dreaming Eli outfit. She received a nomination for best dance for the track “New Religion” featuring Faithless, an award won by Madonna’s “Confessions II – The Film.”

Rexha also reflected on working with the late Dolly Parton on their 2023 collaboration “Seasons,” praising the country icon’s energy and kindness.

“She is the baddest b—h,” Rexha said, describing Parton arriving on set wearing a corset, towering heels, and signature voluminous hair.

“She was like the most energetic, kind, chill,” Rexha said. “I loved it … sometimes when you meet your idols, they kind of let you down. I’ve been in situations like that, but with her … she was amazing.”
