Later this month, Beastie Boys will launch their massive, 600-page book, fittingly titled Beastie Boys Book. You can now learn an excerpt at Vulture. In the passage, Mike D and Ad-Rock focus on the making of their 1989 basic Paul’s Boutique. Along the way in which, they encounter celebrities (“We ran into Slash, briefly. Nice guy. Beastie Boys Book is out October 30 through Spiegel & Grau. A book tour—that includes readings, Q&A classes, a stay rating by Mix Master Mike, a brand new Beasties exhibit, and a Sonos-provided “sound experience”—kicks off this month.
