Sony Legacy Recordings, in partnership with RCA Records, has announced the February 20 release of the official soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming cinematic event, EPiC: Elvis Presley Live in Concert. This expansive 27-track anthology serves as a sonic companion to the film, blending meticulously restored live recordings with contemporary reinterpretations. Highlights of the collection include fresh medleys and innovative remixes, such as Jamieson Shaw’s take on “In the Ghetto” and “Love Me,” alongside a PNAU-produced remix of “Don’t Fly Away.”
The soundtrack’s debut is synchronized with the film’s theatrical launch. Audiences can first experience the spectacle during an exclusive one-week IMAX residency beginning February 20, followed by a wide international release through NEON and Universal Pictures on February 27. The genesis of this project dates back to the production of Luhrmann’s 2022 Elvis biopic, during which his team unearthed a massive cache of forgotten film negatives within the Warner Brothers archives. This discovery included raw footage from the legendary documentaries Elvis: The Way It Is and Elvis On Tour, complemented by intimate 8mm home movies and previously unreleased audio of Presley candidly discussing his life and career.

The restoration process spanned several years, involving a high-profile collaboration with Oscar nominee Jonathan Redmond and Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post Production. In a recent statement, Luhrmann emphasized that the project reveals a side of Presley beyond his unmatched stage energy—depicting a man completely at peace in the spotlight, sharing a uniquely human connection with his legion of fans. Fittingly, the announcement coincides with what would have been the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s 91st birthday. Presley passed away in August 1977 at the age of 42.
Luhrmann’s previous exploration of the singer’s legacy, the 2022 Elvis biopic, remains a cultural phenomenon, grossing over $288 million and ranking as the second-most successful music biopic of all time.
While the digital and CD versions of the EPiC soundtrack will be available in February, vinyl collectors can expect a 2-LP set to arrive on April 24. A preview of the track “Wearin’ That Night Life Look” is currently available for streaming to give fans a taste of the updated sound.
