Baylee Lynn’s ‘Cautiously Optimistic’ Named Fans’ Favorite New Track of the Week

Baylee Lynn’s debut single “Cautiously Optimistic” has surged to the top of this week’s new music poll.

In a survey released Friday, August 29 by Billboard, fans crowned the 17-year-old’s first-ever track as their favorite among this week’s fresh releases.

“Cautiously Optimistic” garnered 64% of the vote, outpacing new songs from Sabrina Carpenter (Man’s Best Friend), Hayley Williams (Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party), Zach Top (Ain’t In It for My Health), and Blood Orange (Essex Honey).

Produced by AJ Pruis, the Tennessee native blends country-pop influences from icons like Dolly Parton and Faith Hill to craft an anthem that captures the hopeful uncertainty of young love after heartbreak.

“When we wrote ‘Cautiously Optimistic,’ I pictured a song that resonates with teenage girls navigating the tension between guarding their hearts and embracing new beginnings,” Lynn shared. “I’m thrilled to finally share this chapter of my story with the world.”

Co-written by Lynn alongside AJ Pruis, Kyle Sturrock and Brett Tyler, the single represents a compelling introduction to her artistic journey.

Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend claimed second place with 26% of votes. Produced by Jack Antonoff, the pop star’s seventh studio album follows last year’s Grammy-winning Short n’ Sweet, which led the Billboard 200 for four consecutive weeks.

Hayley Williams’ compilation Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party—featuring a brand-new track, “Parachute”—landed in third place with nearly 4% support.
