Barbra Streisand is explaining her thought process after sharing a since-deleted Instagram comment asking Melissa McCarthy if she’s on Ozempic.

It all started when McCarthy posted two snaps on IG on Monday (April 29) of herself attending the Center Theatre Group gala with Hairspray director Adam Shankman. “Pastels only to honor the incredible @matthewbourne13 at the @ctgla gala last night with this fella @adamshankman !!” she wrote in the caption. “Thiiiiis much closer to my dream of dancing on stage 💃🏻💚.”

“Give him my regards did you take Ozempic?” Streisand commented, eagle eyed fans noticed and theorized that the legendary star must have accidentally thought she was sending a direct message instead of a public comment. Ozempic is a diabetes and anti-obesity medication that has risen in popularity among influencers and celebrities in recent months.

Streisand soon deleted the comment, and took to her X profile to offer an explanation. “OMG – I went on Instagram to see the photos we’d posted of the beautiful flowers I’d received for my birthday,” she wrote. “Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy who I sang with on my Encore album. She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment. I forgot the world is reading!”
