Bad Bunny continues to surprise fans, this time dropping his new track, “Yonaguini,” at midnight on Friday (June 4). And in his new song, he sings in Japanese toward the end!
Putting aside his Latin trap roots and newfound alternative perreo sound, the Puerto Rican superstar returns to his vulnerable and emo lyrics, bringing to life a down-tempo, chill reggaeton song.
“Yonaguni,” Bunny’s first official single since he dropped his album El Último Tour del Mundo last November, is named after an island in Japan. In a gist, the song is about trying to overcome a breakup but missing that special person no matter how hard he tries.
The music video, directed by his go-to director Stillz, captures just that: a solo, heartbroken Bunny trying to live his life.
