ARK Community Crunch 270: Genesis 2 Preview and EVO Event Rates

Studio Wildcard published ARK Community Crunch 270 on May 29, 2021, with a final preview of Genesis: Part 2, a limited EVO event and its regular Community Corner. The issue arrived days before the expansion and gathered official wallpapers for many of its creatures, items and TEK tools.

Genesis: Part 2 preview

The preview highlighted the Exo-Mek, Egg Incubator, Maewing, Shadowmane, Noglin, Stryder, Astrodelphis and Voidwyrm. It also showed equipment and structures including the Loadout Mannequin, Canoe, Minigun, TEK Hoversail, TEK Phase Pistol, TEK Bow, Net Projectile and TEK Surveillance Console.

At publication time, Wildcard said the team was preparing for a June 2 launch and promised platform and regional rollout details in the following update. Genesis: Part 2 ultimately released on June 3, 2021 as ARK: Survival Evolved’s fifth and final paid expansion pack.

Community Crunch 270 EVO rates

The EVO event ran across all platforms until 1 p.m. Pacific on June 1. Official rates were doubled for breeding, taming, harvesting and XP, while Genesis players received a 1.5x Hexagon bonus. The breeding boost covered mating interval, egg hatch speed, imprinting and maturation.

Community Corner highlights

The fan-art selection included a Deinonychus illustration by Ihanamaki Riina, a TEK Rhino concept by Emily Stepp, Fate of the Cosmos by HallOfFlameSs1 and several Genesis-themed works. The screenshot section featured submissions by NaturalCauzes and bry_shel.
