Ariana Grande Hints at Upcoming Announcement with Cryptic Video: ‘See You Next Year’

Although Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine era is still unfolding, she’s dropped a tantalizing hint of an exhilarating venture slated for next year.

In an enigmatic Instagram Reel shared Wednesday, August 27, Grande’s hand quivers as she taps on a notification that reads, “A corrupt file has been found and corrected.”

The brief clip then transitions to stark text: “See you next year … Announcement loading …”

Grande offered no further details, but fans speculate the tease ties into her Billboard 200–topping seventh album, given that she shared the snippet on her Brighter Days Instagram account. The sci-fi visuals also echo scenes from her Eternal Sunshine: Brighter Days Ahead short film, released in April alongside the album’s deluxe edition.

Beyond these clues, some believe it may herald a series of Eternal Sunshine performances. Although she previously expressed reluctance to tour, Grande recently revealed she’s “crafting a plan to sing for you all next year.” In a July post she added, “even if just briefly … it’s very silly to assume that having my hands full means abandoning music. It’s always been my lifeline, and I plan to make room for it all.”

Originally released in March 2024, Eternal Sunshine spawned two No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100—“Yes, And?” and “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)”—and spent three nonconsecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200. The album gained fresh momentum earlier this year with a deluxe reissue following her November debut in Wicked.
