ARC Raiders Developers Do Not Plan to Introduce Mandatory Global Progress Resets
The system will be called “Project "Expedition"”.
The ARC Raiders team has confirmed they do not plan to impose mandatory global progress wipes. While full wipes can appeal to veterans seeking a fresh start, they can unfairly disregard the time investment of more casual players. Instead, the game will introduce a “Projects” system, unlocked at level 20. The first major initiative — Project “Expedition” — gives players the option to voluntarily reset a character after completing the required objectives.
Each Project runs on an eight-week cycle: during that period players contribute to shared progress (through community contributions and completing phases). In the eighth week a finalization window opens — if all conditions are met, the reset can be triggered. If the Project isn’t ready, progress is preserved and rolled into the next cycle with no penalties. Future Projects may be launched for updates, holidays and special events, each with varying scopes and rewards.
When a Project is activated, all elements tied to character progression will be removed: levels, skills, inventory, items, the workshop and crafting capabilities. Cosmetic items (earned or purchased), achievements, rankings and other meta‑game features — including any purchases made with real money — will remain intact.
